EWYL Technical Services

Electrical & Electronics repair and supply under the Earn While You Learn (EWYL) scheme · Department of Instrumentation & USIC

University-owned desktop and all-in-one computers can be submitted for diagnosis and repair; the Electrical Division, Works Department can also send street lights and LED bulbs. The work is carried out by students under the Earn While You Learn (EWYL) scheme, following the department's Standard Operating Procedure, and is supervised by the Technical Officer.

How it works
  1. Submit a request online with a verified @gauhati.ac.in email.
  2. Print the requisition slip, have it signed by your HoD or Controlling Officer, and bring it with the computer(s).
  3. We check the items received, diagnose each computer and, if new components are needed, send you an estimate to approve online.
  4. You are emailed when the computer and report are ready for collection.
  5. On collection you sign the completion certificate, which goes to Finance.
Personal devices, laptops and stand-alone peripherals are not accepted. Please back up your data before submitting: repairs such as an OS reinstallation erase the disk. Computers not collected within one month of being ready may be scrapped.
